OK, Adolescent Ridley

Apparently that Ridley is called Neo Ridley.

Ridley is a genetically engineered lifeform, created by the space pirates.
He, or different upgraded versions of him, is a recurring Boss in most games, except Metroid 2 and Metroid Prime 2.

Bottom right corner: Original Ridley from the original Metroid and Super Metroid.
Middle: A cybernatically enhanced Ridley, called Meta-Ridley from Metroid Prime.
Right: Meta-Ridley has been further enhanced with Phazon in Metroid Prime 3. This form is called Omega-Ridley
Up: The blue Ridley has been infected by x-parasites in Metroid Fusion.
Up left corner: A robot version of Ridley called Mecha-Ridley from Metroid Zero Mission.
Lower left corner: Apparently Ridley is Pokémon in Metroid Other M. He starts out as this little Furby, then the evolves into the platypus and finally into his original form.

In most games is just a high ranking member of the space pirates, but Metroid Other M retconned his backstory.
There it is revealed, that Samus was the only survivor of a colony that was attacked by Ridley.

The only thing we know about him is that:
A - He killed Samus's parents before her eyes
B - He's a fierce Space Pirate General
C - He always come back to life to add to Samus's wounds ( mentally speaking)

That's all I can tell you.

He likely went after her simply cause she was the highest predator in the place. In Other M all that I gathered was it was just a creature. Didn't have the original Ridley's memories (as a clone would not). Just saw "Hey...this thing can get me food" when it was a baby and then when it got older it realized "oh shit, this thing can kill me! I better kill her first!".

Or they have, and that's the plot of the next Metroid, of course now that we've said this, they won't do it.
